Foreign Missions Team

The Foreign Missions Team of Saint George the Martyr is headed by Linda Rivard and focuses primarily on three aspects of reaching out to other nations with the good news of Jesus Christ. First, the team supports the Global Partnership Churches of the APA that are based in Haiti, Ecuador, India, and the Philippines. Each of these churches serve the most vulnerable in their communities.

Secondly, the team works to keep the attention of the parish alert to the suffering of the persecuted church by drawing attention to and joining in with the efforts of organizations such as The Voice of the Martyrs, Open Doors, and Barnabas Fund. Third, the team organizes efforts to assist World Relief Upstate, a local ministry dedicated to helping refugees who are being resettled from other countries into the Greenville  and Spartanburg areas.

Other efforts have included partnering with MOST (Ministry of Outreach to Slavic Tribes) out of Columbia, SC. and working with the Community Outreach Team in hosting an annual Thanksgiving Dinner for International Students. The team is headed by Linda Rivard.
